PISCATAWAY - A 61-year-old man killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car was remembered Friday night as a kind and generous person who always had smile for others.

Francis J. Levourne III of South Plainfield died at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in the intersection of West Fourth Street and Rushmore Avenue in Piscataway.

"He was a really honest soul. His heart was huge," said Ted Austin, who was Levourne's friend and supervisor at CJ Scotti Services, a local home-improvement company.

Levourne was a roofer at the company and he was known for his hard work and dedication.

"The guys are really choked up. He was a good man," Austin said.

Authorities said Levourne was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson on West Fourth Street when a Honda CRV driven by Maria Menjivar, 41 of Plainfield attempted to make a left turn onto Rushmore Avenue in front of him.

The two vehicles collided in the intersection, police said.

Menjivar, and a passenger, Kenia Dubon-Menjivar, 19, of Plainfield, NJ were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A passenger on the motorcycle, Angel Sylvester, 28, of Plainfield, NJ was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with several injuries.

After the accident, friends placed a small cross and bandana near the intersection where Levourne was killed.
