Authorities are warning residents to lock their doors as car burglaries are on the rise.
NORTH BRUNSWICK -- Make sure to lock those doors and protect those valuables as officials say car burglaries are on the rise in the township.
The areas with the most break-ins recently include Society Hill, North Oaks Boulevard and the neighborhoods adjacent to Route 130 near Route 1, according to police in a statement.
"In each case, it seems the vehicle was left unsecured," officials said.
According to police, items being taken include anything from loose change to laptops. All the recent break-ins have been occurring overnight, officials added.
"Help us and protect your hard earned property by taking a second to lock your car doors," officials said.
Police are also asking residents to report any suspicious activity.
Contact the North Brunswick Police Department at 732-247-0922.
