A short time earlier, a woman was allowed to leave the home in Carteret
CARTERET -- A man surrendered to police in Carteret early Thursday after a standoff, according to a report.
During the standoff, which began around 8 p.m., an older woman walked out of the house and was escorted into a patrol car, News 12 reported.
Police placed a cell phone on the porch and an officer on a bull horn asked the man to answer. The man later walked out of the home on John Street with his hands up, News 12 reported.
