Police investigating shooting in Franklin Township

The victim, a 29-year-old New Brunswick man, suffered a gunshot wound to his lower-extremity, said police.

FRANKLIN - Authorities are investigating a shooting in the township Wednesday in which a man suffered a non-life threatening injury, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said on Thursday.

At approximately 3:35 p.m., police received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting gunshots fired in the area of Fuller Street, the release stated.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 29-year-old New Brunswick man who had been shot in his lower extremity, police said. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that the shooting was an isolated incident, according to police.
