Nicholas Gomes was sentenced Thursday by Superior Court Judge Barry Weisberg, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey.

The crash, in November 2014, killed Brandon Narleski, 19. Gomes was driving a 1997 Mercedes on Route 9 south near Bordentown Avenue when the car crashed into a concrete divider. He was intoxicated at the time of the crash, police said. Narleski, who was a front-seat passenger, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.

Gomes will have to serve 85 percent of the term before he's eligible for parole, and will have his license suspended for 10 years. He pleaded guilty in September to vehicular homicide and driving under the influence, Carey said.
