The fire broke out on the roof of a Behavioral Health Care facility
PISCATAWAY -- A fire that broke out on the roof of a Rutgers University building this morning has been brought under control, a university spokesman said.
None of the 33 people evacuated from the Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care facility at 671 Hoes Lane West were injured, according to spokesman E.J. Miranda.
The fire, which was called in at 4:20 a.m., was confined to an area of the roof where contractors stored supplies. It is not considered suspicious, Miranda said.
The occupants were allowed back inside around 6:15 a.m. and normal operations have resumed.
The building is one of 10 Rutgers behavioral health facilities around the state.
