Rutgers University police are investigating a robbery near the greenhouses on the Cook campus in New Brunswick Thursday evening in which a person affiliated with the university suffered minor injuries when he was confronted by several males.
NEW BRUNSWICK -- Rutgers University police are investigating a robbery near the greenhouses on the Cook campus Thursday evening in which a person affiliated with the university suffered minor injuries when he was confronted by several males while walking off Dudley Road behind Lot 98A.
Police said the victim was walking behind the greenhouses when the men confronted him and demanded items of value. When he refused to turn anything over, they struck him and knocked him to the ground.

Authorities said they fled and the victim received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police said no weapons were observed during the attack.
The crime alert issued by Rutgers police said descriptions of the attackers "are limited at this time."
The alert said the Rutgers Police Department is actively investigating this incident and asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area to please contact the department detective bureau at 848-932-8025.
