Police said smoke from the burn may be visible "in many parts of the township as well as East Brunswick, Helmetta, Spotswood, Jamesburg and Monroe," in an advisory that was issued Saturday.
Authorities said state forest fire personnel will be working throughout the day to monitor and control the burning of grass, an effort to reduce the chance of brush fires.
