PISCATAWAY/SOUTH BRUNSWICK -- Monmouth Junction Elementary School and Piscataway Township Schools were among the schools to participate in the Hour of Code, an introduction to computer science spearheaded by the nonprofit organization Code.org this month.

Each year, schools around the globe set aside an hour to encourage students to try their hand at computer coding during the Hour of Code. The Code.org campaign is designed to help take the mystery out of computer coding and make computer science seem more accessible to students.

The Hour of Code typically takes place during Computer Science Education Week, which this year was Dec. 7 to 13.
