JERSEY CITY -- An Edison man, helping a friend who was locked out of his car, was robbed at gunpoint last night, according to a police report.
At about 9:30 p.m., the 24-year-old victim was on Romaine Avenue when he was approached by a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt, police said.
The suspect, carrying a handgun, said "Give me everything you have," and the victim handed over his wallet, the report stated.
The suspect ran up the block to a dark-colored, four-door vehicle, turned around and "fired one shot toward the victim," police said.
Police believe the gun involved may have been a black revolver, the report stated.
When police arrived they were unable to locate a crime scene or any video surveillance near the scene. The victim told police his wallet contained only his ID and a credit card, according to the report.
