Accident remained under investigation Thursday night
WOODBRIDGE -- Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred early New Year's Eve.
A man was crossing West Pond Road near South Florida Grove Road around 6 p.m. when he was struck by a small SUV-type vehicle, Sgt. Chris McClay said. The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was believed to have been injured, McClay also said, adding that the driver remained at the scene.
The investigation was still underway around 10:15 p.m. Thursday night. Additional information was not immediately available.
