Woodbridge police identified pedestrian killed on New Year's Eve as Hopelawn man. WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP -- Police Monday identified the pedestrian killed New Year's Eve as George R. Parker, 65, of the Hopelawn section of Woodbridge.
Police said Parker was crossing West Pond Road near South Florida Grove Road at about 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 when he was struck by a small SUV-type vehicle.

Authorities said Parker was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured and the driver, who was not identified, remained at the scene.
Police said no charges have been filed in connection with the accident.
