PERTH AMBOY -- City officials have called for a "code blue" and announced that several facilities will be open Tuesday and overnight into Wednesday as temperatures dip.
Temperatures will fall below 20 degrees around the state Tuesday night during the first cold snap of the winter season.

The facilities that will be open are:
Alexander F. Jankowski Community Center, 1 Olive St., open overnight beginning at 7 p.m.
Raritan Bay Area YMCA gymnasium, 375 New Brunswick Ave., open until 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Salvation Army, 433 State St., open overnight beginning at 5 p.m.
City Buildings during regular operational hours.
Raritan Bay Medical Center, 530 New Brunswick Avenue, open throughout the day and evening.
City officials are asking people to call the Police Department at (732) 442-4400 if they see someone who needs help. Transportation will be provided.
