NEW BRUNSWICK -- A New Brunswick man was indicted Tuesday on charges he stalked and fatally shot his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of the South Brunswick industrial complex where she worked.
The indictment charged Giver Quiroz-Vasquez, also known as Gilberto Juarez-Vasquez and Erick Morales Sandin, 25, with murder, stalking, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The grand jurors charged Vasquez shot and killed Alicia Martinez-Izaguirr, 24, of New Brunswick the morning of June 24, 2015.
Martinez was killed about 7 a.m. when she arrived for work at the company in the Prologis complex on Docks Corner Road.

Authorities said Vasquez followed her into the parking lot, opened fire on her and fled.
Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey said the investigation showed Vasquez borrowed 2004 silver Volkswagen Passat from one of his friends, used the vehicle to follow the victim and fled in the borrowed car, which was later abandoned.
Carey said Vasquez was arrested in New Hope, Pa. following an investigation by Detective Monica Shearer of the South Brunswick Police Department and county Detective Craig Marchak.
Vasquez waived extradition and pleaded not guilty to murder charges six days after the shooting.
During the court hearing on June 30, 2015, Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Scott LaMountain told Superior Court Judge Alberto Rivas that Vasquez and Martinez had a "tumultuous relationship."
He has been held in the Middlesex County jail in lieu of $2 million bail since his return.
