SPOTSWOOD --Police stopped a Bradley Beach man for doing more than 20 miles an hour over the speed limit on Main Street and found a slot machine, a knife and a bat in his car.
The man, Alan Devivo, was stopped on Jan. 21, at 1:22 p.m. by Patrolman Steve Gallo for doing 54 miles an hour in a 30 mile an hour zone, police said.
Authorities said Gallo found Devivo had a knife, a coin-operated slot machine, and a bat with a broken handle which was taped for a grip.
Devivo was arrested, charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession and transportation of a gambling device and released pending court, police said.
