MARLBORO --The driver of a car that flipped over in Marlboro and critically injured one of the passengers has been charged with driving while impaired, authorities said.
Thomas M. Spiecker, 21, of South Amboy, was charged after Saturday's crash that caused serious injuries to his passenger, Gary Siriday, 22, also of South Amboy, said Marlboro police Capt. Fred Reck.

Reck said Spiecker was driving a 2005 Dodge Neon on Greenwood Road near Dawes Avenue at 3:03 a.m. when the car flipped, throwing Siriday from the vehicle.
Siriday was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. A second passenger, James Stewart, 22, of the Morganville section of Marlboro, sustained minor injuries and , like Spiecker, was treated at the scene and refused further medical attention.
Spiecker was also charged with several motor vehicle violations before being released on a summons complaint, Reck said.
