EDISON -- Edison's "Rabbi for Trump" is no longer for Trump.

Rabbi Bernhard Rosenberg, who launched the "Rabbis for Trump" group in December supporting the frontrunner Republican's presidential campaign, now says that Donald Trump doesn't care about the Jewish vote.

"My flip flopping consists of my continuously asking for a platform stating his full support Israel and stating that I cannot continue unless I get one," Rosenberg said in one of many written statements on the matter.

Rosenberg, the rabbi emeritus at Congregation Beth-El, said in an email that a representative for Trump's campaign said the Jewish vote is not important. The Facebook page, which breached 1,000 likes, has been deleted, and Rosenberg said he's no longer supporting Trump.

Rosenberg has also been unable to get an audience with the New York City real estate mogul, who last night won the New Hampshire Republican primary. (Rosenberg dropped his support for Trump before the primary took place.)

"If the (Sen. Ted) Cruz or (Sen. Marco) Rubio people want my support I will be happy to give it to them," Rosenberg wrote on his Facebook page. "To those supporting Trump it hurts me greatly to do this but I cannot get answers and have been told by a representative that the Jewish vote is not important. I do not dislike Trump and wish him well, but I can not fight for him if I do not believe he fully supports Israel and the Jewish people."

Also vying for the Republican presidential nomination are Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, as well as neurosurgeon Ben Carson and business executive Carly Fiorina. The election is in November. Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are vying for the Democratic Party's nomination.

When it comes to Trump, not all is lost for Rosenberg. In an email, Rosenberg said he'd consider flipping back to Trump, and re-launching his Facebook group, if he had a few questions about Israel answered, and if he found out the Trump representative he spoke to didn't actually represent Trump.
