The bridge taking Rt. 516/527 over Rt. 18 in Old Bridge will be rebuilt, beginning next week, causing traffic detours. Watch video
OLD-BRIDGE --The state Department of Transportation will start replacing the deck of the bridge that carries Route 516 over Route 18 in Old Bridge next week.
The project is expected to begin Feb. 19, 2016, and take six months to complete, according to the DOT.
The construction calls for detouring all westbound traffic to the ramp from Route 516 westbound to Route 18 northbound. For those who need to get to Route 18 south, they will follow Rout 18 north to the reverse jughandle at the intersection with Hillsdale Road and make the U-turn.

For those who need want to reach Route 516/527--the other side the bridge, motorists can pick up the ramp from Route 18 south to Route 516/527, where the detour ends, according to a statement from the DOT.
