WOODBRIDGE -- This photo from 1933 shows competition at the Woodbridge Speedway.

According to the book "Woodbridge: New Jersey's Oldest Township," the Woodbridge Speedway was on St. Georges Avenue and was dubbed "The World's Fastest Half-Mile Race Track."

It was open on Sundays, May through September, from 1927 through 1938. Today, the area is home to Woodbridge High School, built in 1957.
