Person was struck by a train near Jersey Avenue station in New Brunswick
UPDATE: Man struck and killed by train identified as Amtrak employee
Many NJ Transit commuters on the Northeast Corridor line should either leave very early or prepare to be late to work.
Service between Trenton and Metropark is delayed by up to 70 minutes for what NJ Transit described as a trespasser fatality. The person was hit by a train in North Brunswick, not far from the Jersey Avenue station in New Brunswick.
Service was briefly suspended between Trenton and Princeton Junction before it resumed around 6:25 a.m. with major delays, NJ Transit said on its Twitter feed.
Other lines are running on or close to schedule. Commuters' problems could soon get much worse as rail workers might strike on March 13.
