New York denied the license of Vincent LoSacco, owner of Just Pups in East Brunswick.
EAST BRUNSWICK -- A New Jersey pet store owner charged with 267 counts of animal cruelty also faces violations for a shop he owns in Valhalla, New York, MyCentralJersey.com reported.
Vincent LoSacco, the owner of Just Pups in East Brunswick, allegedly allowed healthy animals to be exposed to infectious diseases. Several dogs died after being purchased from the store and three dead dogs were found in a freezer, the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said.
LoSacco refuted the charges in a video he posted on YouTube.
"Neither myself, nor any of my staff in East Brunswick, nor any of my staff anywhere, has ever committed any acts of cruelty or neglect to any of the puppies in my store," LoSacco said in the nearly 10-minute video, which has since been removed from YouTube.
The New York Department of Agriculture and Markets in February denied LoSacco's attempts to renew the license for the Just Pups location in Valhalla, New York. The store failed four inspections and re-inspections, the department said.
The East Brunswick Township Council plans to meet Monday to rule on the license of the East Brunswick store.
