There is no beginning or end to the New Brunswick Ciclovia route and it is not a race. Join in anywhere along the route – just show up, enjoy the vehicle-free streets and have fun!
The first of the four scheduled 2016 New Brunswick Ciclovia will be on Sunday, April 24.
New Brunswick Ciclovia - a free, citywide initiative that closes the streets to cars and opens them to people - promotes healthy active living through experiencing New Brunswick's vitality, livability, and diversity in a safe place for people to exercise and play.
During Ciclovia, the streets become temporarily car-free for 5 hours for families to run, walk, skate, ride bikes, enjoy active events along the route, and explore the city streets.
There is no set beginning or end to the New Brunswick Ciclovia route as it is not a race. You may join in anywhere along the way - just show up, enjoy the vehicle-free streets and have fun! The path of the Ciclovia was designed for participants to enjoy the downtown area and many of the city's attractions, landmarks, and parks.
The roads along the designated route will be vehicle-free and open to the public from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Municipal crews will begin setting up street closures at approximately 7:00 am, and at 4:00 pm the roads begin re-opening to cars.
Many volunteers are necessary to make the New Brunswick Ciclovia a safe and successful event. Volunteers will serve as route marshals, staff the water and information stations, and provide logistical support. Volunteer as a group or an individual by sending an email with your contact information to CicloviaNB@gmail.com. New Brunswick Ciclovia volunteer t-shirts will be provided.

New Brunswick Ciclovia will take place in light rain or intermittent showers. If there is significant rain fall predicted requiring the cancellation of the event, it will be posted on the website and Facebook page by 6:00 am the day of the event.
The other announced dates for the 2016 Ciclovia (all Sundays) are June 25, August 6, and October 2.
