EAST BRUNSWICK -- The Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools is now offering a program in advanced manufacturing on its East Brunswick Campus and has expanded its graphic design shops to two other schools.
The new program, Pre-engineering and Manufacturing Technology, includes courses in mechanical technology, electronics, and pneumatics and hydraulics.
"There's been a major renovation of the room, from the ground up," said Sean McDonald, MCVTS director of career and technical education. "It is designed to be a flexible manufacturing lab facility. There are simulated manufacturing areas that can be moved in and out."
The graphic design program, which had only been available on the East Brunswick campus, is now being offered on the Perth Amboy and Piscataway campuses as well. Students enrolled in the program will receive instruction on the elements of art, the principles of design and the use of cutting-edge technology.
