Nobody was hurt in the accident, police said.
EDISON -- An Edison police cruiser had a brief and unexpected stay in a hotel room Saturday morning.
Township police said the cop car crashed through a window of the Extended Stay America hotel in the Raritan Center around 11:30 a.m. The officer wasn't hurt, and the hotel room was empty at the time, police said. No other cars were involved.
The exact circumstances of how the car ended up in the hotel were unclear. Police said that one officer responded to the hotel for an unrelated call and parked the car. A different officer arrived and wanted to move the car. That second officer somehow ended up driving the vehicle from the parking lot into the window.
Pictures from the scene showed shattered glass, a damaged bumper and a front end almost perfectly aligned with the opening of the window.
No further information was available Sunday morning.
