Edward Romano, 21, died Wednesday morning of unknown causes at his home in Iselin.
NEW BRUNSWICK - Counselors will be available Friday afternoon to speak with members of the Rutgers University community about the death of Edward Romano, a senior history and political science major.
Romano, 21, died Wednesday morning of unknown causes at his home in Iselin.
"To lose any student is a devastating blow and Edward's death will be acutely felt throughout the Rutgers community because of his many accomplishments as a student and campus leader," Chancellor Richard L. Edwards stated in a message sent to the community late Thursday afternoon.
Romano was president of the Rutgers University Democrats and considered a promising history scholar and political advocate by his peers and professors. He was an intern with the Middlesex County Democratic Committee and was committed to progressive political causes, Edwards said.
Representatives from Counseling ADAP, Psychiatric Services, Dean of Students Office, and the Multifaith Council will be available to speak with students from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Douglass Student Center, NJC Lounge on the second floor, Edwards said.

Services for Romano will also be provided through the Dean of Students website, once details have been confirmed, the chancellor said.
Earlier Thursday, the Middlesex County Democratic Organization said Rutgers University Democrats are planning a memorial service in the Drawing Room of the Eagleton Institute, 191, Ryders Lane, New Brunswick.
The service will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and will be followed by the screening of a documentary about Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who was Romano's favorite president.
