All major roads are open in Princeton and West Windsor Sunday, following a deluge of rain that swamped roads and flooded the Princeton Junction train station Saturday evening.

Princeton police reopened all major roads Sunday morning.

West Windsor police, which lifted it's state of emergency later Saturday night, said the township had 6 inches of rain Saturday.

"Which is amazing!" police Lt. Robert Garofalo said in an alert Sunday.

"(West Windsor) officers worked tirelessly to rescue trapped motorists and remove vehicles that ventured into the flooded roadways," Garofalo's alert said.

"We are performing clean up operations today and preparing for the possibility of additional storms," the alert said.

He also wrote that an ambulance-style vehicle seen at certain flooded locations is an old ambulance that was converted to a delivery vehicle for quick, emergency deployment of cones and barricades.

The West Windsor Volunteer Fire Co. #1 posted online that they answered 18 calls in 10 hours Saturday Saturday in 10 hours that included water rescues, elevator rescues, hazardous situations, water leaks and activated fire alarms.

West Windsor police said abandoned vehicles towed during the storm were taken to either Al's Sunoco, which can be reached at 609-799-2252 or Grovers Mill Towing at 609-799-2076.

Motorists who return to locations where they left their vehicles vehicle and don't see should call the towers.
