The car then crashed into a building housing a doctor's office
FRANKLIN -- Authorities are continuing to investigate the fatal shooting of a Franklin Township man Monday morning while he was driving, according to a report on NBCNewYork.com.
NBCNewYork.com identified the victim as James Kargbo, who was gunned down as he drove through his neighborhood with his young son in the car.
Seconds after Kargbo was shot, his car crashed through a fence and into a building housing a doctor's office, the report said.
The boy survived the crash, which took place around 11 a.m.
The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday morning that the investigation is ongoing and the cause of death has not been determined.
Kargbo was shot just yards away from the Somerset Park apartment complex where he resided, according to NBC. Family members who answered the door Tuesday said they could not comment on Kargbo's death.
