Ruhann Peele was also ordered to take anger management classes as a result of his role in a fight in 2015.

NEW BRUNSWICK -- A former Rutgers University football player was sentenced to three years probation on Friday for breaking a man's jaw and nose in a fight in October 2015.

Ruhann Peele, 23, appeared at the Middlesex County Courthouse, where he was also ordered by a judge to attend anger management classes, according to a report by MyCentralJersey.com.

As part of the sentence, Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Dennis Nieves also ordered Peele to pay more than $2,100 in restitution, the report said.

Peele was one of several ex-Rutgers students and former football players arrested for aggravated assaults, home invasions and robberies in 2015 that upended the football program and led to the firing of the college's football coach and athletic director.
