Woodbridge resident busted after trying same insurance scheme twice.
TRENTON -- A Middlesex County man who falsely claimed to insurance companies -- twice -- that thieves had stripped his motorcycle for parts will serve three years in state prison for the deception, authorities said.
Lew Alicock, of Woodbridge, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree insurance fraud over the scheme. He was sentenced Tuesday by Superior Court Judge Michael Toto in Middlesex County.
Officials from the state Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor say Alicock, 32, filed a claim with the Pacific Specialty Insurance Company in 2013, reporting that parts from his Yamaha motorcycle had been stolen while the bike was parked outside his mother's house in Irvington.

Instead, he had actually taken them to a mechanic and paid to have them removed, replacing the parts four days after filing a $5,513 claim, which was paid out. Months later, he tried unsuccessfully to defraud another insurance company with the same scam, authorities said.
Under the terms of his sentence, Alicock has been ordered to pay full restitution to the insurance company.
