MANALAPAN - A 76-year-old Middlesex County man was issued multiple motor vehicle citations Friday, after he allegedly struck a young township resident with his vehicle and left the scene of the crash.
At approximately 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, a 12-year-old Manalapan resident was walking across Church Lane when he was struck by a dark-colored sedan, which then drove away, police said.
After an investigation, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Stanley Perlman, 76, of Monroe Township, police said. Perlman was issued motor vehicle summonses for leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
The child, whose name was not released, was treated for minor injuries at the scene by the Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad.
