High school students conduct a donation drive.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK -- Studying the Syrian conflict in Justin Negraval's Global Studies class at South Brunswick High School spurred student McKenna Haurey into action.
Haurey was so moved by the plight of the Syrian children that she began a drive at school to collect comfort items for them. "She has been organizing her fellow classmates for the last few weeks," said Negraval. "We are collecting gently used or new toys, blankets, coloring books, dolls, and anything that would bring happiness to a child living in a world of war and turmoil."
The students will be collecting donations through Friday. Those interested in contributing can email 10010228@students.org. All donations will be sent to the Red Cross to distribute to the Syrian refugees.
