NEW BRUNSWICK -- City police closed a portion of French Street as firefighters battled a blaze at three-story building Monday, according to authorities.
The street was closed around 1 p.m. between Bethany and Alexander streets due to the fire, New Brunswick police said in an alert Monday.
Fire officials could not be reached for details on the two-alarm fire that broke out around 11:30 a.m. The three-story building has a checking-cashing business on the ground floor and multiple apartments on the second and third floors.
