The company was sold to a Canadian outfit for $103 million earlier this year

The four American Apparel stores in New Jersey are down to their last few weeks following the sale of the company.

American Apparel has locations at the Menlo Park Mall in Edison, the Cherry Hill Mall, Hoboken and Garden State Plaza in Paramus. All will close by the end of April, according to reports.

All 110 American Apparel stores will be shuttered, LATimes.com reported. At one time there were 230 stores.

Canada's Gildan Activewear paid $103 million to buy Los Angeles-based American Apparel's intellectual property and some equipment, according to WWD.com. It has no plans to keep the stores open.
