Police ask for public's help in hit-and-run of jogger

The hit-and-run happened on Old Bridge Turnpike near Gunia Street just before 10 p.m. on March 16

EAST BRUNSWICK -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding the driver of a car that hit a jogger and drove away last week. 

The hit-and-run happened on Old Bridge Turnpike near Gunia Street just before 10 p.m. on March 16, East Brunswick police said in a release. 

The car, which was described as champagne or gold colored Dodge Intrepid made between 1998 and 2004, continued southbound after hitting the jogger, police said. 

Officers believe they found a portion of the vehicle's front bumper while responding to the call, according to the release. 

The jogger injured his right arm, back and stomach in the incident. The injuries were not considered serious.
