MILLTOWN -- Police responded to a call from a service station on South Main Street Thursday evening about a possible drunk driver and, after investigating, learned the man was from Staten Island and the car he was driving was stolen.
Authorities said Lewis Shann, 41, drove into the service station shortly before 6:13 p.m. and then into the garage and demanded mechanics fix his flat tire, confronting the owner. After the confrontation, he backed out of the garage and struck a parked vehicle that was getting gas at the pumps, police said.
Shann has been charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and is being held on $15,000 bail.
