NEW BRUNSWICK -- Police say that two men are in custody after they tried to rob a city home early Monday morning.

Alpha Sesay, 27, of Somerset, and Miguel Zavaleta, 19, of New Brunswick, were charged with burglary, robbery and theft and jailed on $50,000 bail.

Police say that early Monday morning, residents of a Guilden Street home woke up due to the sound of two men disassembling their electronics. One of the suspects, police say, tried to hit one of the victims as the suspect fled.

The alleged victim chased the suspects outside. Police say they found a duffel bag outside of the home "packed with other electronics, games and food taken from inside the residence."
