TOMS RIVER -- An Ocean County grand jury said a South Plainfield man should be held responsible for the death of a Brick Township man who overdosed on fentanyl-laced heroin.

Jesse Hay, 26, was indicted on Tuesday on six drug offenses and one count of causing the drug-induced death of Anthony Busby.

Hay was arrested five days after Busby, 24, was found dead in a Marilyn Drive home in Brick on Dec. 18, 2014.

At the house, investigators found several wax folds stamped "730 virus" in green ink and 10 wax folds stamped  "Strike Dead" with a picture of a grim reaper in red and black ink, authorities said at the time.

Investigators said the envelopes tested positive for fentanyl, a powerful painkiller that when used to lace heroin gives the drug a greater potency.

An autopsy on Busby concluded he died from an excessive amount of fentanyl, authorities have said.

Besides being charged in Busby's death, Hay was charged with possession, possession with intent to distribute and distribution of fentanyl and possession, possession with intent to distribute and distribution of heroin.

A second man, Jordan Madsen of Edison, was also indicted on possession, possession with intent to distribute and distribution of fentanyl charges, according to the indictment.
