KEANSBURG -- A Piscataway woman who didn't want Keansburg police to find prescription drugs on her hid them where she thought cops wouldn't find them.

Keansburg police said that when Erica Chapman, 34, was taken into custody for heroin and marijuana possession, she hid some Xanax pills in, according to police reports.

Chapman was arrested on Monday after someone called police about a suspicious person at Shore and Beacon boulevards in Keansburg, according to the department's Facebook page. When Patrolman Justin Cocuzza arrived at 12:58 p.m., he found Chapman with heroin and marijuana, the report said.

In two separate complaints filed with Superior Court in Monmouth County, Cocuzza said Chapman tried to keep police from finding the prescription pills that she knew "were concealed inside her vagina within a plastic bag."

A second complaint said Chapman tried to swallow the pills before a police matron could take them from her.

Chapman was charged with hindering apprehension and tampering with evidence. Municipal Court Judge Michael Pugliese set her bail at $10,000.
