NEW BRUNSWICK -- Children ages 10 and younger got a visit from Santa Claus on Dec. 12 when he dropped in for the 23rd annual Holiday Festival for Children at the Suydam Street Reformed Church.
The festival, which was sponsored by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, included a procession from the Three Kings, live music and vocal performances.
The event also featured guest appearances by the Rutgers University Scarlet Knight mascot and cheerleaders.
"Each year we are amazed and overwhelmed by the generosity of kind individuals who donate toys or their time to make each festival an outstanding success," said Mariam Merced, director of Community Health Promotions at RWJUH. "We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to our donors, as well as volunteers from the community, church, police department and Rutgers Athletics for supporting this year's program."
