NEW BRUNSWICK -- Students at the Middlesex County Vocational School No. 1 in New Brunswick make Christmas toys for needy children in this circa-1930s photo.

The first classes at the New Brunswick location of the vocational school were held in the winter of 1915.

While the New Brunswick campus no longer operates, the county's vocational program continues with locations in East Brunswick, Edison, Perth Amboy, Piscataway and Woodbridge Township.

Toy-making is not part of the current curriculum, however.
