The cat was found in Old Bridge earlier this month after being struck twice
OLD BRIDGE -- A pregnant cat had to be euthanized after being struck by two arrows earlier this month, officials said.
The cream-colored feline was struck once in the chest and then once in her hind quarters as she tried to flee on the afternoon of Dec. 14, a spokesman for the New Jersey Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said.
After being found on the lawn of a home in the area of Sunset Avenue in Old Bridge, the cat was rushed to a veterinarian. The vet determined her injuries were too severe to be treated.
She was not believed to be feral, based on her appearance, spokesman Matt Stanton said.
The New Jersey Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is trying to determine who shot the cat. Anyone with information is asked to contact the NJSPCA at (800) 582-5979.
