SOUTH BRUNSWICK -- A woman is in critical condition after a car crash during icy conditions Sunday night.
The Middlesex County resident was driving on Georges Road near Sarah Court when she left the roadway, struck large landscaping rocks, became airborne, then struck a fire hydrant and flipped.
Nearby residents rushed to her car to help her, police said. The woman's name was not released.

She was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick by Monmouth Junction First Aid. The Monmouth Junction Fire Department also responded.
The road was closed for four hours as police investigated. Police are looking at whether speed and weather conditions caused to the crash.
It was one of several car crashes on New Jersey roads Sunday night.
