A customer at Middlesex County ShopRite bought the Cash4Life ticket
Less than a month after a lottery player in North Jersey won $1,000 a week for life, someone who purchased a ticket in Central Jersey did even better.
A Cash4Life ticket sold at ShopRite on Route 1 south in Edison matched five numbers and the Cash Ball and is worth $1,000 a day for life, state lottery officials said Friday morning.
The winning numbers drawn were 11, 13, 36, 46 and 48. The Cash Ball was: 4.
If the lucky ticket holder prefers he or she can take the cash option -- $7 million before taxes.
The odds of a Cash4Life ticket winning the first prize are 21,846,048 to 1.
Besides the second-prize ticket sold on New Year's Eve at a Dover liquor store, two other second-prize tickets were sold in New Jersey during December. There was also a first-prize ticket sold last month at a Winslow gas station.
Cash4Life drawings are held twice weekly. The game is played in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Tennessee.
