EDISON -- A Jersey City man has been charged with robbing the TD Bank branch on Oak Tree Road on Jan. 10, police said Friday.
Jerome Mack Jr., 31, is charged with one count of robbery and is being held on $75,000 bail at the Middlesex County jail, according to Edison police Chief Thomas Bryan.
Bryan said investigators believe Mack entered the bank around 1 p.m., handed the teller a note demanding cash, then ran from the building after he was given an undisclosed amount of money.
Bryan said additional charges may be filed pending the outcome of the continuing police investigation.
"Closing this bank robbery is a direct result of persistent efforts by our skilled detectives who did the necessary legwork in cooperation with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies," the chief said.
He said Detective Sean Forker followed up on leads and developed information that led to Mack's arrest on Feb. 3 for the robbery.

Bryan said the same TD Bank branch was the target of a St. Patrick's Day robbery in March 2015.
