EDISON -- A man and a woman have been charged with a series of burglaries that began in November and ended with their arrests and could span three counties, police said.
Chief Thomas Bryan said Enoch Brimage, 50, of New Brunswick, and Kimberly Zubrycki, 38, of Milltown, face four counts of burglary and four counts of criminal mischief each in connection with a rash of residential burglaries in Middlesex, Mercer and Union counties.
"These arrests resulted from meticulous and highly professional police work conducted in cooperation with a number of other communities," Bryan said. "I could not be prouder."
Bryan said the couple may be responsible for up to 40 burglaries including several in Woodbridge.
He said the couple was arrested Jan. 18 after Detective Matt Lechelt from Edison's Special Operations Group (SOG), compared burglary patterns and evidence from towns throughout the three counties.
He said based on Lechelt's research, Brimage and Zubrychki may be facing additional charges from police departments in a number of other communities.
Brimage is being held in the Middlesex County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. Zubrycki has been released on her own recognizance.
