It was a pet-friendly weekend in Edison. Watch video
EDISON -- When Shilo stands on his hind legs and puts his Great Dane front legs over your shoulders, he's tall enough that you're looking up into his eyes.
Shilo, with the Mid Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, was one of many animals at the Super Pet Expo in Edison over the weekend.
More than 18,000 people brought about 3,500 dogs, plus other critters, to the expo over the three day show said Liz Masich, Super Pet Expo show producer.
"We had a pony, skunk, duck, lizards, all kinds, come to the show," Masich added.
Crowds gathered around the Ultimate Air Dogs water tank to watch dogs leap off a stand after a toy was tossed into a pool of water.

"We have a longest jump, so far, of 23 feet 2 inches," said Minette Boyd of Hudson River Air Dogs, which runs the contest.
The show had reptiles, birds and lots of dogs and puppies. Many animal rescues centers had animals that could be rescued.
"We come every year," said Paul Lowenstein. He brings his three English Mastiffs, Tank the puppy at 220 pounds and Tanks mom and dad at 200 and 170 lbs.
"It gets them out of the house and socialize," Lowenstein added.
