Edison police have identified the pedestrian who was killed Thursday night on Brunswick Avenue as a 32-year-old Princeton Junction woman who was struck by a car as she walked along the street.

No charges of been filed but the investigation is active. 

EDISON -- Edison police identified the pedestrian who was killed on Brunswick Avenue Thursday night as a 32-year-old Princeton Junction woman.

Police said Friday that Christina Shiu, 32, was walking in the rain on the side of Brunswick Avenue near Talmadge Road at 7:42 p.m. when she was struck by a car driven by Andrew Ayers, 23, of Bridgewater.

Shiu was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Police are still investigating what caused the accident and Ayers has not been charged, authorities said.
