The incident occurred at Waterworks Park
SOUTH AMBOY-- Police, fire and animal control workers as well as the Sayreville ice rescue team came to the aid of a deer after it fell through the ice at Waterworks Park Friday, WABC 7 reported.
At least three firefighters entered the frigid waters to save the deer early Friday night, sliding the frightened animal onto a backboard before he was pulled to safety.
About 22 emergency vehicles were on scene, WABC 7 reported.
The deer was dried off and warmed before being released.
