WOODBRIDGE -- A dog found on Easter Sunday that appeared to be hit by a car is recovering at the Woodbridge Animal Shelter.

The young female Mastiff was found on Alwat Street in the afternoon with no tags or chip, according to the shelter, which said the dog didn't seem to be hit by a car on Sunday but sometime in the days before.

However, the Mastiff still had tire marks from the accident, the shelter said on Facebook.

On Monday, the shelter said the young dog was resting after a full evaluation.

The non-profit, Woodbridge Animal Group, that provides support for the animals in the shelter is asking residents to help find her owner.

Anyone with information can call (732) 855-0600 x2034.
