EDISON -- Township police arrested three teens, including two juveniles, who they say broke into several cars off Tingley Lane in North Edison.

Trimick Trevell Kates, 18, and a 16-year-old and 17-year-old were allegedly caught around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Officers Wilfredo Brown, Joseph Chonka, Nicole Errico and Robert Ellmyer Jr. arrested the three teens after they were dispatched to Timber Oaks, Rolling Brook and Lily drives. The suspects led Brown on a foot chase through the woods, police said.

The officers recovered $1,700 worth of gift cards, cell phones, coins and a $1,250 one-ounce gold bar stolen from cars, police said.

Kates was released without bail and the others were released to relatives, police said. They were charged with larceny and forced entry into vehicles.
